  • Prize Money: Over $1.25 million

"My first passion has always been poker."

Kelly Kim entered the final table of the 2008 Main Event as the classic underdog. He was short-stacked with just under 3 million in chips, but that wasn’t going to stop him from waiting for the right hand to push all-in with.

And wait he did, using his patience to move up another spot on the payout ladder. Kelly was finally forced to push all-in when most of his chips were committed to the big blind, but was unable to win the hand and stay alive. He finished in 8th place and won over $1.25 million.
